was formally activated on October 10, 1972 pursuant to Sec-ll General Orders Nr 424 AGAI, GHQ Armed Forces of the Philippines dated February 21, 1972.

The provisional Battalion was activated on April 1, 1973 in pursuant to Section-I General Orders NR 25 HPMBde dated March 26, 1973. The unit Headquarters served as the training directorate of a unit in its formative stage. Under this set-up were four provisional companies: the 10th, 11th, 14th, and 15th Marine Companies.

The former 10th Marine Battalion was activated on October 23, 1984 in pursuant to General Orders Nr 908 GHQ. Afterwards, the 10th Marine Battalion was re-designated to 4th Marine Battalion in a simple ceremony held during the Testimonial Parade in honor of the Flag Officer-In-Command, Philippine Navy, RADM Pio P. Carranza AFP on November 5, 1994.

The 5th Marine Battalion Landing Team was activated as a Unit of Philippine Marine Brigade, Philippine Navy on April 15, 1975 General Orders Nr 03 PHDP. Five (5) other companies were likewise consolidated to form the unit. They were Headquarters Service Company, 5th Marine Company, 29th Marine Company, 30th Marine Company and 32nd Marine Company

The 6th Marine Battalion was activated as a unit of the Philippine Marines, on September 18, 1976 General Order Nr 528 PHDP dated Sept 17, 1976. And the 6th Marine Battalion Landing Team, Table of organization and Equipment Number N7-5STD effective as of October 20, 1977 General Orders NR 706 AGAI, AFP dated 28 1977.

The 7th Marine Battalion was reactivated on June 1, 1988 in pursuant to General Order Number 57 HPMAR as a regular line Battalion of the Philippine Marines was filling to Headquarters Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The unit underwent six (6) months of rigorous training and reorientation.

The 9th Marine Battalion was formally activated on May 10, 1982 General Orders Nr 81 HPMAR dated May 7, 1982, with four companies: Headquarter Service Company, 10th Marine Company, 20th Marine Company and 30th Marine Company. During the incumbency of BGEN Punsalang, its first Battalion Commander was MAJ Elmedencio Calixtro PN(M).

Force Reconnaissance Group
FRG
On 19 August 1972, the Reconnaissance Company was established as part of the Philippine Marine Brigade, Philippine Navy, based on orders dated 11 August 1972. Later, on 18 April 1995, it was upgraded to the Force Reconnaissance Battalion (FRBn) per directives dated 25 April 1995. By 01 October 2013, with orders dated 28 November 2013, FRBn underwent a significant transition; it was no longer under the Combat and Service Support Brigade and came directly under the control of CMC. Subsequently, it was rebranded as the Marine Special Operations Group (MARSOG). A final name change occurred on 31 July 2018, when MARSOG was officially renamed to Force Reconnaissance Group (FRG) based on directives from that same date.Combat & Service Support Forces

Marine Corps Assault Boat Battalion

Home of the “Sea Warriors”. The unit operates different types of watercrafts unique to the Marines. Composed of skilled Marines, they can operate day and night transporting troops to any hostile territory or running against terrorist at sea. On June 21, 2019, Inshore Boat Battalion (IBBN) was renamed as the Marine Corps Assault Boat Battalion pursuant to General Order Nr 224 HPMC dated July 5, 2019.
Combat Engineering Battalion (Provisional)

CEBn is a highly specialized unit capable of demolition activities to facilitate troop insertion of marines in different types environment. Operating in either jungle or urban terrain, this unit provides one of the most vital support of Marines in the Battlefield. Combat Engineering Battalion (Provisional) was activated HPMC General Orders Nr 173 on July 2, 2021.
Marine Corps Intelligence Battalion (Provisional)

The unit serves as the eyes and ears of the Marine Corps. Highly skilled and talented, they exploit information of different environment to support Marine Operations. The Marine Corps Intelligence Battalion (Provisional) was activated HPMC General Order Nr 253 dated October 23, 2021.
Field Artillery Battalion
FABN
FABn is composed of some of the skilled Marines. They are battle hardened known with the monicker as “The Blind Killers. The unit operates day and night, delivering the most precise and accurate support to ground troops. Field Artillery Battalion was activated with three Howitzer Batteries (17th, 18th and 19th Marine Company) effective January 1, 2000, pursuant to Section-Ill General Order Nr 23 HPMC, dated Jan 20, 2000.
Assault Armor Battalion
AABN
The AABn provides the best armor support to Marines since its inception. They operate the best amphibious vehicles in the AFP inventory and instituted the Philippine Marine Corps of today. The Armor Assault Battalion with its Headquarters Service Company (HSC) was activated effective January 1, 2000 pursuant to Section-IlI General Orders Nr 23, HPMC dated January 20, 2000.

Marine Base Arturo Asuncion

Marine Barracks Arturo T Asuncion was activated pursuant to General Orders Nr. 229 PHDP dated Jul 7, 2005. It was renamed to Marine Base Arturo T Asuncion pursuant to General Orders Nr. 191 PMC dated September 7, 2011 in honor of late BGEN Arturo T. Asuncion, AFP. 
Headquarters & Headquarters Service Group
HHSG
On 01 October 1973, the Hqs & Service Group was initiated. This was later expanded on 19 March 1975 to include the Hqs Coy as a part of the Phil Mar Bde, PN. By June 1977, the Svc Coy and Medical Coy joined the Hqs & Service Group. A significant change took place on 16 October 1984 with the activation of the Headquarters Battalion, followed by the recognition of several entities, including HSC, RHAC/Mar Admin Center, and others on 07 November 1984. However, by 01 July 1994, both HQBn & HSC were deactivated. This was shortly followed by the activation of the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Group (HHSG) and Headquarters Service Company (HSC) that same month. The turn of the century, 01 January 2000, saw the deactivation of HHSG and HSC and the reactivation of Headquarters Battalion (HQBN) and HSC.

Then the unit was renamed into Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim General Orders Nr. 229 PHDP dated July 7, 2005. Then an order for amendment was made from Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim into Marine Base Gregorio Lim General Orders Nr. 191 HPMC dated Sep 7, 2011.
